With a lifetime spent in and around boats, I bring extensive experience and formal qualifications to my role as a marine surveyor. I hold both RYA and AYF Yachtmaster certifications and have over 30 years of experience as a Master V and MED 3. My AYF credentials include TL1, TL2 (Examiner), TL3, TL4, and TL6.

My hands-on expertise includes skippering yachts across the Pacific, Aegean, and Mediterranean seas. I have worked with renowned yacht brokerages such as Maurie Drent, Jerry Hendrey, and Ben Lexcen Marine (Cairns), gaining valuable insight into the key factors boat buyers consider. Additionally, my five years as Sales Manager at Boat Books Australia provided me with in-depth knowledge of the resources available to boat owners.

I obtained my marine surveying qualifications from the National Sea Training Centre at Lloyd’s Maritime Academy (London) in 2008 and earned a Certificate III in Marine Craft Construction from TAFE in 2012.

At Rob’s Marine Surveying, I specialise in recreational vessels, providing thorough, customer-focused service. My commitment extends beyond the survey report—I remain available for consultation and assistance before, during and after surveys are completed to ensure my clients make informed decisions.
